Whether I am shooting a documentary or drama, I am passionate about creating films in which the characters are vividly remembered. I am inspired by directors such as Mike Leigh, Alexander Payne and Aki Kaurismaki all of whom have managed to successfully master a genre which includes a touch of tragedy, comic satire and semi ironic characters. What distinguishes these films from other black comedies is the level of real compassion they have for their characters.
